Native Australian Finger Limes

These are not from my garden, but from a specialty mushroom / fruit shop in Prahran Market called Damian Pike – Mushroom Man. Don’t they look so great? The colours are amazing. I love how the texture of the plate emulates the texture of the skin. Admittedly, this picture is from 2 years ago which I only just found in my stash of photos. I fell in love with these when I saw them at the shop.

If you haven’t tried finger limes before, and if you can get your hands on them, I highly recommend giving them a go!

I usually eat them with smoked salmon, because I love the popping sensation you get when you bite into them. They add a gentle acidity to each bite which goes really well with the smoked salmon.
